Excellence Resort truly lives up to its name; this was by far the best resort I’ve ever visited! Everything about our stay was perfect, from the service and food to the atmosphere. It was the ultimate getaway.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff who made our anniversary so special and unforgettable. Eduardo was absolutely phenomenal; he brought so much energy, fun, and positivity to every activity. His enthusiasm was contagious and truly elevated our experience. Jayden was extremely helpful and friendly. And Sully made our beach day unforgettable with her thoughtful surprises; she made us feel truly celebrated.
Our favorite dining experience was at Magna, the exclusive restaurant for Excellence Club members. The food was absolutely delicious, and our server Marvin made the evening even better with his warm and attentive service. That restaurant alone made the club upgrade completely worth it!
I can’t say enough about the kindness and hospitality of the staff; they truly made us feel like family. I’m already counting down the days until our next visit!

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at Excellence Playa Mujeres, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip. The resort itself is beautiful, but what made it so special was the incredible staff who went above and beyond for us every single day. Their warmth, humor, and thoughtfulness made us feel like we were among friends!
They constantly surprised us with thoughtful gestures that made our stay unforgettable. Rubi took such attentive care of us on the beach each day and always greeted us with the sweetest smile. Sully and David created personalized sand art for us on our beach towels (such talent- it was genuinely so impressive!) and they kept us laughing the entire time. Josue checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and was always so kind. And when I injured my foot on the beach, Alain tended to me with such care while Yeudiel literally carried me off the beach.
It’s rare to find a resort where every staff member feels personally invested in making your experience magical, but Excellence Playa Mujeres achieves it 100 times over. We are sad to leave. We feel so cared for, celebrated, and already eager to return. ❤️

Our stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty. The resort is spotless, beautifully landscaped, and truly lives up to its name — excellence in every detail.
The rooms were spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained, with stunning views and thoughtful touches everywhere. The food was outstanding across every restaurant — from gourmet dinners to beachside snacks — and the drinks were top-shelf and always flowing.
What really sets this place apart is the service. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our stay special, always greeting us with genuine warmth and smiles. The pools, beach, and spa were all incredible, offering the perfect mix of relaxation and luxury. We want to thank Alberto the beach waiter, Sergio, the bartender in the pool bar, and Cezar at the main bar! They made our stay that much better!
If you’re looking for a romantic, peaceful, and truly indulgent all-inclusive getaway, Excellence Playa Mujeres is second to none. We can’t wait to come back! 🌴✨

We arrived yesterday. Check-in was easy and the staff were all very friendly. This is our first time here and typically really enjoy purchasing the higher tiered services. So far the food has been what you would expect at an all inclusive. Entertainment has been nice. The excellence tier does not seem to get you really anything. In the evening the closest bar is on the second floor that has excellence tier beverages. This is inconvenient. You also cannot get an excellence tier bottle in your room without a charge. The grounds are beautiful and clean. Room is clean. Bed is average. Beach is beautiful. Service at the excellence tier beach is sub par. We have had to go to the bar on our own for refills. That is disappointing. We do tip, but this is not much of motivation for staff. The sweet lady that set me up on the beach was wonderful but unfortunately she is not able to get drinks. Hoping to enjoy the rest of our stay. Hopefully service will improve. Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Can’t find ice maker.
Update: this place is growing on me exponentially! I’m starting to learn the lay of the land. We moved to a different excellence beach location and it was night and day different, service was top notch! Came upstairs to the excellence lounge for a pre dinner cocktail and the bartender had my husbands drink ready before he even ordered. I got an old fashioned and it is amazing! Going to have dinner at the grill tonight.
Update: I lowered my stars. We have reached out to voice concerns, no follow through. The food is great. Better than most all inclusive. The property is well maintained and beautiful!
Do not bother purchasing the excellence level. We do this because we enjoy the perks of top shelf alcohol. They don’t keep the top shelf available. There is no excellence level pool that overlooks the ocean. Bummer! They say that the fridge in room is restocked 1x daily, that is not true. Asked for them to switch out house bottle of wine Merlot for Cabernet Sauvignon. That also did not happen. While there are a few stand out employees, they do not even out with the high number of people that don’t seem to really care.
If your expectations are mid level service, then you will probably enjoy this place. If you are like me and are used to attentive staff, this is not the place for you. Remember you do get what you pay for!

CONS: inconsistent service, disappointing excellence level bar locations, no excellence level pool views, poor excellence level stocking of alcohol, absent concierge service with excellence level.

Excellence Playa Mujeres has been amazing! This is our second time staying at an Excellence resort, the first time being two years ago at Beloved Playa Mujeres, which we also loved. The facilities and staff are what make it such a great place.
Alberto on the beach service team is the absolute man! Such a great employee and asset to the Excellence brand. He is so friendly and loved showing us new, fun drinks while we relaxed on the beach. My wife prefers cocktails while I am a mocktail guy, and Alberto consistently introduced us to some great flavors throughout the week when we told him we didn’t know what we wanted! He is very hardworking and never let our drinks run dry. Easily our favorite employee we met during our time here (everyone else was amazing, but Alberto goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of perfect).
