Just returned from a brilliant stay at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya! This resort has everything you could want for a great holiday.
The three large pools were beautiful and not overly crowded. The lazy river is also a great addition to the hotel. The variety of bars and restaurants was impressive, and the buffet was good with plenty of options.
One of the best parts of the hotel grounds was all the wildlife! We saw spider monkeys, coatis, and iguanas.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend!

We had such an amazing stay! The staff honestly couldn’t do enough for us – everyone was so friendly and helpful the whole time. Our room was super clean, well-kept, and got a proper tidy-up every single day, which made it feel really fresh and comfortable.
We tried a bunch of the restaurants and every meal was great – no bad experiences at all! The food was always tasty and there was plenty of choice. The drinks were just as good.
Overall, everything about this trip was easy, relaxing, and fun. We’re already talking about coming back because we enjoyed it that much!

This was our first time in Mexico for me and my wife, and although we could only stay for a week due to work commitments, we had an absolutely amazing time. In fact, we’ve already started looking at re-booking for next year!
The staff were all polite, friendly, and genuinely happy to help, which made us feel really looked after throughout our stay. The resort itself is large with excellent facilities – you can either enjoy a stroll or use the convenient shuttle service to get around.
The food options were fantastic, with so much variety. My wife has a gluten allergy and the staff and chefs went out of their way to accommodate her, which made dining stress-free and enjoyable.
There are plenty of pools (two with swim-up bars serving premium spirits included in the all-inclusive package), and never any issue finding a lounger to relax on. Our room was spacious and comfortable – we had two double beds which the staff kindly pushed together for us, giving us even more space.
We were also lucky enough to be there for Mexican Independence Day and had such a fun time at the celebrations. A special mention to Eric and Giselle, who were fantastic hosts and made the party extra memorable.
Overall, this was a true 5-star experience that we would highly recommend for both couples and families. Can’t wait to come back!

Top notch resort in the heart of the Mayan Riviera. From arrival to departure we were treated like royalty with extremely friendly staff, beautifully kept grounds and amazing food. The resort is huge so be prepared to walk, but they do provide very convenient shuttle services throughout the resort. However, walking does allow to you enjoy the wildlife and walk off the copious amounts of food you will undoubtedly eat. For those that feel the need to be connected 24/7, the free wifi was literally everywhere. We will 100% be returning. Room 2316, Oct 8-15 2025.

⭐ 2 out of 5 – A huge disappointment after an amazing first visit
We recently returned to the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, a resort we absolutely loved when we visited in May. That first stay was incredible — beautiful rooms, great service, and an unforgettable romantic beach meal I paid extra for. It was so good that we decided to change our next holiday from Disney World in Florida to come back here instead. Sadly, this trip was the complete opposite and a huge disappointment.
We had five different rooms during our 14-night stay — yes, five:
• The first room was mouldy and damp.
• The second and third both leaked water from the rain.
• The fourth room flooded from under the bath — and this happened on my wife’s birthday. I had paid extra for a birthday package which was completely ruined as we had to move rooms again.
• The fifth room was also mouldy and damp, but by day 9 we were exhausted from packing, unpacking, and moving around, so we just stayed put.
We were in regular contact with Hannah from Lobby Concierge, who has been amazing both times we’ve stayed here. I’ve spoken with her since our first visit in May, and she really is a credit to the hotel — professional, caring, and always trying to help.
By day 10, the Manager of Guest Services contacted us, apologised sincerely, and offered us yet another room. We declined because we had already wasted so much of our holiday moving around, so she kindly offered us a spa massage and to refund the birthday package, which was appreciated.
However, things took an odd turn afterwards. I do social media reviews and have quite a following on TikTok — the hotel is aware of this. Later that day, we received calls from two separate people asking us to go to the front desk to “sign a form” for the spa. When we got there, they knew exactly who we were and handed us what turned out to be a waiver form, stating that by signing, we agreed not to post anything about our experience on social media.
I declined immediately. I explained that I always give honest reviews — I gave a full 5-star review in May, and I wasn’t about to be silenced this time. I even said I’d pay for the spa myself rather than sign something that restricts honesty. After some back-and-forth, the staff agreed to forget the waiver form and still offered to cover the spa and birthday package, as long as I posted a fair review — which is exactly what I’m doing here.
Aside from the room issues and that awkward situation, I also mentioned to the manager that housekeeping was hit and miss, even though we tipped daily, and that concierge coverage in the blocks was inconsistent (except for Block 10 near the lobby). She was appreciative of the feedback and said it would be addressed.
Now, credit where it’s due:
The grounds, beach, and wildlife are absolutely stunning. My morning runs here were incredible — it really is a breathtaking resort. The staff were mostly lovely and polite, and there are lots of food options (though personally, I didn’t like the lack of air flow in the restaurants at night — that’s just me, not a complaint).
Unfortunately, after this experience, we won’t be returning. It’s such a shame, because our first visit was perfect. But this second time felt like playing roulette — you just don’t know what kind of room you’ll get. Having five problem rooms in nine days is unacceptable, and the constant moving ruined what should’ve been a special holiday.
When we got home, the damp smell in our luggage was overwhelming — it made our house stink for days. That pretty much summed it up for us.
So, while Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya is beautiful and full of potential, our latest stay was frustrating and disappointing. I want to end by thanking Hannah once again for her professionalism and kindness — she really did everything she could. Sadly, though, we won’t be coming back.
