Egypt

Relax

Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family, it’s important that you give yourself permission to relax and enjoy a little me time. Lazing atop a sun lounger on an Egyptian beach is absolute bliss. You’ll find plenty of umbrellas providing a little shade, perfect if you want to get lost in a good book. If you’re enjoying an all-inclusive Egypt holiday, your beach time will be even better. You can sip refreshing cocktails as you top up your tan without having to worry about the bill. Of course, if you are travelling with little ones in tow, finding time for yourself to relax on the beach is a little bit more difficult. However, with a great choice of family-friendly Egypt hotels to choose from, finding somewhere that features a kids’ club and offers fun-filled children’s activities won’t be a problem.

Egypt

Have fun

Whether you have the task of keeping the kids entertained, or you’re looking to mix things up with a bit of fun as well as relaxation, you’ll always find lots to do on a beach holiday in Egypt. Children of all ages will love splashing about in the warm sea with tiny fish swimming about their feet, while you can make memories that will last forever by joining them in their sandcastle-building endeavours. Older children and adults may find the unique opportunity to enjoy a camel ride along the beach too good to miss, while friendly games of beach volleyball and football are among other activities to enjoy. Some resorts in Egypt, such as Soma Bay, Makadi Bay and El Gouna, even have golf courses within a stone’s throw of the sea, making them fantastic options if you want to combine a beach holiday with a golfing getaway.

Egypt

Aquatic wonders

From Sharm El Sheikh on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, down to Marsa Alam to the south of Egypt’s Red Sea coast, the waters off the destination’s resort shorelines are teeming with wondrous sea life. Colourful coral reefs are home to clownfish, parrotfish manta rays and much more, while sharks, turtles, dolphins and dugongs also reside in this thriving habitat. The opportunity to discover some of the Red Sea’s inhabitants is absolutely unmissable, whether snorkelling close to shore or taking a boat trip to scuba dive in deeper waters. You’ll be truly mesmerised by the spectacular creatures that await, while those who dream of swimming with dolphins in their natural environment should head to Marsa Alam, El Gouna or Hurghada. If you wish to discover aquatic animals without taking the plunge, an aquarium visit might be more your cup of tea. Hurghada Grand Aquarium is one option, featuring a shark tunnel, mini zoo and rainforest exhibit.

Egypt

Water sports

If lazy beach days aren’t for you, how about some water sports action? Egypt’s Red Sea coastline provides the ideal conditions for an assortment of thrilling aquatic activities, with many hotels providing equipment and expertise to help you hit the waves, with some experiences often included in your all-inclusive package. Paddleboarding, kayaking, kitesurfing, windsurfing, parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides and much more can be enjoyed. Calm bays, warm waters and steady winds make conditions perfect whatever your level of expertise, while lessons are available for beginners seeking a helping hand. Not feeling very sporty? Worry not, you can still get out on the water, with a choice of boat trips and island-hopping adventures available. Giftun Island, close to Hurghada, is well worth a visit. A hidden gem in the Red Sea, its pristine, white beaches and turquoise waters will make you feel like you’ve arrived in paradise.

Egypt

Wine and dine

There’s no better spot for dining, unwinding or socialising than on the beach, and the gorgeous shores of Egypt are no exception. From waterside restaurants providing a dreamy setting for a romantic moonlit meal, to dancing on the sand at lively parties, the opportunities to share memorable moments with friends, family or a significant other are not to be missed. Feast on spicy meat grilled to perfection at a beach barbecue, sip your favourite cocktail watching the sun set from a comfortable spot in a beachfront bar, or embrace tradition with a visit to a seaside shisha cafe. Again, all-inclusive packages often include dining and drinks in multiple venues, so be sure to check if such delights are included. Of course, simply enjoying the stunning waterfront scenery or stargazing from the sand are activities that definitely won’t cost you a thing.

BestTimeToVisit

Best time to visit

With 4,000 hours of sunshine annually and warm weather all year round, there really isn’t a bad time for a beach holiday in Egypt. That being said, certain times of year can be preferable depending on your priorities. If you like your holidays hot, the summer months from June to August could be the best time for you, with temperatures topping 35°C. Although not an ideal choice for sightseeing, you’ll be in beach holiday heaven with a shady spot on the sand and the sea close at hand for when you need to cool off. If you prefer cooler climes, the shoulder seasons of March to May and September to November, may be more to your liking. Temperatures usually stay between 25°C and 30°C, and you’ll enjoy sunny days, calm seas and fewer crowds. Warm days can also be expected from November to February, with Egypt being a superb winter sun destination. Temperatures in the low 20s are the norm, although cool evenings and mornings mean it’s worth packing a jacket.
